Megawatt News
About Megawatt News
I work in the energy industry and got tired of chasing news across 50 tabs. So I built this. It now monitors 110+ sources hourly.
π° What This Is
Megawatt News is a one-person project. I built it because the energy news landscape is fragmented, useful stories are scattered across dozens of trade publications, wire services, and government sites. I wanted one place to see whatβs actually happening across the sector without the noise.
It monitors 110+ sources, categorizes everything into 13 verticals, and surfaces what matters. No editorial spin, no ads, no sponsored content. Just the news.
β‘ Coverage
π How It Works
Automated Collection
A scheduled Lambda function pulls from 110+ RSS feeds every hour β trade publications, wire services, research institutions, government agencies, and scientific journals.
Categorization
Each article gets categorized across 13 energy verticals using keyword analysis. No AI hype, just pattern matching that works.
Ranking
Articles are scored by source credibility, recency, and relevance so the most important stories float to the top.
Distribution
Top stories get posted to Bluesky and X three times a day automatically, plus a weekly newsletter digest.
